Mission

The mission of the Parker Police Department Property and Evidence Unit is to preserve and protect property and evidence by providing professional, proficient, and systematic storage and handling of each and every piece of evidence or property that is entrusted to our care.

Unclaimed Property

The Parker Police Department currently has the following types of property which will be disposed of by the Town unless the owner thereof reclaims such property in the manner provided by law within thirty (30) days after the item is received into the Parker Police Department Property and Evidence Section. The following items are examples of items being held; bicycles, car keys, sporting goods, landscaping equipment, wallets, handbags, electronics, cameras, camera accessories, clothing, cellular phones, tools, office supplies, bank/membership cards, jewelry, firearm accessories and documents.

Property Evidence Room

The Difference Between Property and Evidence

Found property – Any found property listed on our website will require proof of ownership to be claimed. Found property will be held for 30 days from the date it was received. After 30 days the property will be disposed of, auctioned pursuant to Parker Town Ordinance.

Safekeeping Property – Any safekeeping property received from an officer will be held for 30 days for pick-up by the owner. After 30 days the property will be destroyed or auctioned pursuant to Parker Town Ordinance.

Evidence – Any evidence held will require a written release to be returned to the owner. This release must come from the District Attorney’s office and Parker Police Department officers and/or detectives. Owners must contact the officer or DA’s office directly in order to get a written release.

PropertyRoom.com Auction – Following the property’s retention period, (30 days), the Property and Evidence section has discretion to submit items to www.propertyroom.com for online auction.

Firearms

Owners wishing to retrieve their firearm(s) from the Property and Evidence Unit shall/Must complete a criminal background check prior to release.

Do you need to claim property from the Parker Police Department Property & Evidence Section?

In order to claim your property, you must schedule an appointment and bring a government issued picture identification card. It is also helpful if you have your case number, police report, or notification letter. Please contact the Property and Evidence Section at 303.805.6779 to schedule an appointment. Most appointments can be made Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are located at 18600 Lincoln Meadows Parkway, Parker, CO 80134.
